Stamford's All About Kids Dentistry Opens Another Fun Office In Danbury

DANBURY, Conn. -- All About Kids has transformed the long-vacant Colonial building in downtown Danbury from an empty car dealership into a dental office designed with a totally cool and fun environment to put children at ease -- and maybe even get them a little excited about having their teeth taken care of.

The head of a shark -- with perfect teeth and a pair of sunglasses -- plunges through the wall of the waiting room. A seagull perches on a sandcastle overlooking the registration desk, while a dog on a surfboard rides waves over a waiting-room wall embedded with video game consoles. The exam rooms are filled with brightly colored murals and figures of friendly creatures.

The office opened in January at 47 West St. A "dental fun zone,” it specializes in the care of children up to age 21. A child waiting to see the dentist will be put at ease in the environment filled with TVs, games, balloons, and toys.

“Our mission is to become your ‘dental home,’ and build relationships so, that you and your children will enjoy coming year after years,” said George Presto, marketing manager of All About Kids.

The services include cleanings, sealants, preventative care, fillings, crowns, and extractions. Restorations are done with tooth-colored composite filling materials. Custom mouth guards and pediatric oral prosthetic, including obturators, partials and habit-breaking appliances are offered as well. The office also offers in-office light general anesthesia and orthodontics.

For its recent grand opening celebration, All About Kids partnered with Danbury’s Promise for Children Partnership to host a Business After Business Event for the Greater Danbury Chamber of Commerce. Mayor Mark Boughton stopped by to perform the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

“We enjoy doing outreach within the community by doing presentations and attending events where we can promote the importance of oral health,” said Presto.

The dental office and the Promise for Children Partnership are both all about kids, with the partnership working to bring together parents, educators, healthcare providers, and family support agencies to prepare Danbury children ages birth through 8 for success in school.

Dr. Helene Strazza founded the company in 2007 in Stamford. Strazza was a dentist in the U.S. Navy for five years and then completed her pediatric dental residency at Bronx Lebanon Hospital in 2006. In 2007, she relocated to Stamford to be closer to family, and opened up All About Kids pediatric dentistry at 127 Greyrock Place.
