The practice's lower Fairfield County centers are located at 3000 Summer St., Stamford; 607 Main Ave., Norwalk; and 161 Boston Ave., Bridgeport.
The Fairfield center at 1918 Black Rock Turnpike launched as AFC Urgent Care last October.
Over 160 facilities across the U.S. will be united under the AFC Urgent Care name by early next year.
American Family Care, the parent company of AFC Doctors Express and AFC Urgent Care, handles more than 2 million patient visits annually.
This initiative will increase brand awareness, ensure adherence to AFC’s established standards of practice for medical care and allow centers to take full advantage of its resource network.
All AFC Urgent Care clinics will retain the same doctors, nurses and other staff, as well as offer the same access and hours, accept the same insurance plans and maintain current copays and other fees. Each facility will continue to operate under local owners who live and work in the communities AFC serves.
With four sites in coastal Connecticut plus three clinics in Danbury and West Hartford, AFC now counts seven branches in the state. New centers will be opening in Shelton, Bridgeport, Danbury and New Britain this year, creating additional jobs for area residents.
With approximately 50 AFC locations in the Northeast U.S., AFC Urgent Care offers adults of all ages, college students and children care for many illnesses, injuries and routine health needs.
Patients receive evaluation and treatment by board-certified physicians on a walk-in basis.
The practice's full range of services includes physicals and vaccinations for school, sports, pre-employment, DOT, immigration; travel medicine; on-site X-rays and lab tests; and occupational health and workers’ compensation services for employers.
The clinics accept most types of insurance and self-payment.
